We make films the world
acts on.

Felt.  Remembered.  Shared.  Funded.

Right now, in a room you are not in, someone is deciding about you.  A funder.  A board.  A family choosing where to belong.  The years of care, the quiet decisions, the work itself: none of that is in the room.
Only a story makes it inside.  And whichever story reached them becomes, in that moment, all of you.
That is why Artifact exists: to make sure the version that arrives is the true one.

Artifact is built on the pursuit of digging deeper.  We look past outputs to understand intent.  Past messaging to understand meaning.  Past performance to understand what actually endures.  We listen first.  The film comes from what the listening reveals, not from a template waiting for footage to fill it.

Sig Zane × ALOHA Collection

Launch film, 2026.  Two beloved Hawaiʻi makers, introduced through place, pattern, and the people behind the work.

Before you hand us a story, you should know who you’re trusting it to.

Artifact is a two-person studio, and that is by design.  Luke directs and films.  Nora runs editorial and operations.  We learned to listen before we learned to make films: slower questions, longer silences, respect for who a story belongs to.  That is not a method we adopted.  It is the way we were raised to hear people, and it comes with us into every room the work enters.

Most filmmakers arrive believing the room needs their genius: a story manufactured, a concept invented, a movement branded.  We arrive believing the room already holds something better than anything we could make up.  We find what is true and we film only that.  And when the film reaches the rooms that matter, it speaks the way you would have spoken, if you had been there.

Artifact is built to listen first.

We believe that if the work is real, the story is already there.  It is living in the dirt.  It is living in the sweat.  It is living in the motivation of the people doing the work.  Our job is not to build it.  Our job is to have the respect and the tools to unearth it.

01

Listen

We sit down and spend real time with you and the community the story belongs to.  By the time filming begins, the room knows us.

02

Architect

The story is first, logistics come second.  Everything is built backward from the film that the story deserves.

03

Deliver

We do not hand you a campaign asset.  We hand you a film that gets kept: shown with pride now, and still reached for years from now.

The world is ready when you are.

However you want to begin, it begins the same way: a note to the two of us.  Ask for a thirty-minute call and we will get on the phone.  Ask for the storytelling audit and we will study how your story is being told today, then write back with what could be working harder.  Or simply tell us what you built.  Every film on this page started this way.

And if you are a fellow filmmaker, write too.  We love meeting our community!  The field is better walked together.

Your note is on its way.  A person, not a studio, will write back.

The world gets better when true stories get told.  Mahalo for bringing us yours.
